Comments should explain the usefulness of a suggested resource. They should
be no more than 150 words, if possible. We welcome links to webpages
where there is a resource article from a publication reprinted online ... one
that you have written or one in which you are quoted. In the case of
a link to a reprint, you may make comments of up to 300 words, perhaps writing
a synopsis or extracting a section that points to other resources. Write
a critique of a resource published in or outside the archive if you think
you can improve it. Our objective in requesting comments and critiques
is
to provide access to the most useful resources.

We committed
to building our enterprise
and economic development network with links
and information about resources of interest to a target
audience. Your help is needed to share with
others. Please ask if
you have questions about sharing or our motivation.

Suggest any resource that you
believe members of the target
audience of The Network would find useful. The first
rule for publishing a comment and link in the resource
archive for free is that it be of interest to the .network user
group. The second and equally important rule is that all users must
have free
access. them. If you want to promote or advertise a resource
that is not free and open to all users or restricted in some way, you
should consider leasing a
personal webpage or
one that you organize as a sponsor.
Free-access resources
available through commercial websites are given consideration but
they must to complete within themselves. They may, however, be surrounded
by promotional messages. Links and comments
about
resources
available through commercial websites and those that promote locations are
published for free along with acknowledgements.
The overriding objective is to build The Network with useful
resources in support of its mission.

FAQ: I can't find the resource I want. Now what?
The Network provides resources to help users accomplish
a mission. After
years of experience we (who
we are) concluded that it's impractical to offer a network of open
access websites filled with resources in anticipation of their
use. Search engines contribute to the scenario much an item of the
game Rock-paper-scissors. Its
the nature of the Internet links become broken and much of the information
posted has
a limited shelf
life but remains
to be reported as search results. With ambitions larger than our stock
of resources, we are equally guilty with many others of seemingly Also,
its the nature of the Internet that links are all to often broken with
inadequate explanation. This being the case, we
came up with two ways that we believe the mission is better served:
We serve members of
the .network target
audience through a search
promise.
We serve members by
maintaining an open access resource
archive.

a look at the .network mission
statement, then some resource-related definitions beginning
with resource itself.

The one-word definition of stand-alone is complete in
the sense that it is something independent as a unit in and of itself:.
In other words,
a stand-alone is self contained ... having all
necessary parts or components operational or steps in place so as to
be complete. For
example, a stand-alone resource can
be used to accomplish something without having to add to it or combine
it with anything else. As an example that
specifically applies to The Network, it can be said that a stand-alone
resource for site
selection is a location
package that completely answers
of the questions set-forth at the time it was requested. The organization
or person providing the package is referred to as a resource
suppler. When location
data suppliers are recontacted
and asked for assistance, they convert to service
providers. The Network uses the expression resource
and service provider.

We are happy to publish links and comments about resources available
within commercial websites as long as they stand
alone. Resources that are complete only up to a point where they
become a bait for selling something are not acceptable. The Network provides
the Global Registry
of Contacts with additional opportunities
for resource and service providers to promote what they offer. It is
OK, however, to submit a resource that is complete in and of itself but
contains or is surrounded by a sales pitch.
