Florida: The Florida Economic Development Council, Inc.
has an economic development directory search tool at www.fedc.net/search.cfm.
Also, a PDF file is available online showing Florida
Economic Development Centers by County (published: 2004) without showing
access to a source that you can contact for updated information. If you send
us (who
we are) an email
and request that an item listed in the PDF file be updated, we will respond
with personal search assistance as a free service email
you request.

Georgia: The
state chamber of commerce membership directory is the best available
Georgia economic development directory. Choose the link in the previous
sentence and scroll down to a link for chambers
of commerce and development authorities. Also, try scrolling down to
economic
development agencies. Because the state's association of economic development
practitioners locks its membership directory, Georgia provides the example
for how the Global
Registry of Contacts and the search
promise of The
Network are combined to
help its target
user group avoid the frustration of being denied access
to resource
and service provider rosters.

| Idaho: CLICK

profiles available online from the Idaho
Department of Commerce. Select a place

Illinois: CLICK
HERE for a map
of counties in Illinois provided by the State's Department of Commerce
and Economic Opportunity. Individual counties are linked for access to
community
profiles. Select a county and a place
of interest within
it to obtain a profile. Scroll to the bottom of the profile
page to see local and
regional economic development contacts listed.

Another way to get to Illinois community
profiles is to manipulate a DECO Community Development URL
address string. The URL for the A-page is shown below.
Copy and paste it to your browser, then open to the address which lists
the names of counties and cities that begin with the letter A.
Simply change the A at the end of the address string to B or
another letter of the alphabet to move on to other pages listing profiles
and providing local access.

Because the website for the state's
association of economic development practitioners doesn't indicate
that if offers a membership directory, you can turn to the Global
Registry of Contacts for help. Search the GRC database for the
name of the location you want. Request free
personal search assistance in the event your query doesn't provide
what you want.

| Indiana: The Indiana
Economic Development Corporation offers lists of contacts
for regional and local
economic development organizations.
A Web search turned up an Indiana
Economic Development Association membership roster last updated in 2005.
An up-to-date IEDA roster is apparently available only to those
who have a username and password.

Louisiana: The Additional
Resources page of the Louisiana
Economic Development website has two pull-down menus that together allow
you to access a list of regional economic development organizations, chambers
of commerce such as the one for area of the state capital, Baton Rouge, LA.
Likewise you arrange to access lists of area and local development organizations
and allies by region as well as other types of resource
and service providers. For your information, the website for The
Louisiana Industrial Development Executives Association doesn't show
a link accessing its membership roster.

| Michigan: Although access to the Michigan Economic
Development Association's membership
directory is restricted you can try the state's Community
Economic Development Association (CDC/Nonprofit
Member Webpages). The
best resource, however, is a
document of the University
of Michigan Library which has links to regional and local contacts.
Selecting a link to a local government website, for example, may quickly
lead to spotting a chamber of commerce or economic development agency.
The recommendation that you use
the document to find location
data suppliers makes the case for libraries
as discussed on page 4 of About
Economic Development in the .network EDN website.

The Mid-America Economic Development Council covers
Illinois, Indiana,
Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, North
Dakota, Ohio, South
Dakota, and Wisconsin.
MAEDC doesn't have a membership directory available online.
There is a state
affiliates page but not all organizations listed
there provide websites that allow you to search for resource
and service providers. The Global Registry of Contacts
maintained by The Network lists MAEDC member attendees from
past Competitiveness Conferences.
See Search
for a Contact.

Paste the text line in the memo section of an anonymous email
that you send to The
Network in accord with instructions. Be sure to name
the contact's state in the email subject line. Our response
(who we are) will
be to publish a link or address information for contacting the person

be notified on how to find the information afterwards without
further involvement on our part in your retrieval of the information

The page is a compendium of resources used in organizing
a national economic
development directory for the United States of America
as an addendum to the Global
Registry of Contacts. Select a linked state name for access to the membership
directory of its association of economic developers and allies or, if unavailable,
access to an alternative. (page up).

This is one of several pages in a series. Arrow
buttons are provided at the top of each page. Use them to navigate back
and forth through the series. The left-pointing button is linked to the previous
page. The right-pointing button
on the last page in the series is linked to an economic
development directory for states in GRC
database which is outside of
the series. Selecting an item in its location
data supplier resource
column, however,
brings you back into the series.
The website in which you found this resource primarily
serves the target
audience of The
Network. This economic
development directory as well as the GRC
database are useful to those who search for contacts positioned to
supply information about locations for site
selection. CLICK
