Florida: The Florida Economic Development Council, Inc.
has an economic development directory search tool at www.fedc.net/search.cfm.
Also, a PDF file is available online showing Florida
Economic Development Centers by County (published: 2004) without showing
access to a source that you can contact for updated information. If you send
us (who
we are) an email
and request that an item listed in the PDF file be updated, we will respond
with personal search assistance as a free service email
you request.

Georgia: The
state chamber of commerce membership directory is the best available
Georgia economic development directory. Choose the link in the previous
sentence and scroll down to a link for chambers
of commerce and development authorities. Also, try scrolling down to
economic
development agencies. Because the state's association of economic development
practitioners locks its membership directory, Georgia provides the example
for how the Global
Registry of Contacts and the search
promise of The
Network are combined to
help its target
user group avoid the frustration of being denied access
to resource
and service provider rosters.

Illinois: CLICK
HERE for a map
of counties in Illinois provided by the State's Department of Commerce
and Economic Opportunity. Individual counties are linked for access to
community
profiles. Select a county and a place
of interest within
it to obtain a profile. Scroll to the bottom of the profile
page to see local and
regional economic development contacts listed.

Another way to get to Illinois community
profiles is to manipulate a DECO Community Development URL
address string. The URL for the A-page is shown below.
Copy and paste it to your browser, then open to the address which lists
the names of counties and cities that begin with the letter A.
Simply change the A at the end of the address string to B or
another letter of the alphabet to move on to other pages listing profiles
and providing local access.

Because the website for the state's
association of economic development practitioners doesn't indicate
that if offers a membership directory, you can turn to the Global
Registry of Contacts for help. Search the GRC database for the
name of the location you want. Request free
personal search assistance in the event your query doesn't provide
what you want.

| Indiana: The Indiana
Economic Development Corporation offers lists of contacts
for regional and local
economic development organizations.
A Web search turned up an Indiana

An up-to-date IEDA roster is apparently available only to those
who have a username and password.

| Louisiana: Access www.ledlouisiana.com/additional-resources.aspx?rc=6
to see that there are pull-down menus to use. One allows you to select information
by region. The adjacent pull-down allows you to select, for example, chambers
of commerce or regional economic development organizations or economic partners
and allies and other contacts. The website for The Louisiana Industrial Development
Executives Association
doesn't display a link for access to its membership directory.

| Michigan: Although access to the Michigan Economic
Development Association's membership
directory is restricted you can try the state's Community
Economic Development Association (CDC/Nonprofit
Member Webpages). The
best resource, however, is a
document of the University
of Michigan Library which has links to regional and local contacts.
Selecting a link to a local government website, for example, may quickly
lead to spotting a chamber of commerce or economic development agency.
The recommendation that you use
the document to find location
data suppliers makes the case for libraries
as discussed on page 4 of About
Economic Development in the .network EDN website.

The Mid-America Economic Development Council website
does not indicate that there is a membership
directory online. The association covers Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, North
Dakota, Ohio, South
Dakota, and Wisconsin. It
website has a state
affiliates page. The Global
Registry of Contacts lists attendees
and their contact
data from past MAEDC Competitiveness Conferences.
It's up to individuals to keep their records up-to-date or
for .network users to
make
requests on their behalf. Search for
a place
of interest or the name of a location
data supplier. .Request free
personal search assistance in the event your query of
the GRC database doesn't produce satisfactory results.

Georgia, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland,
Mississippi, Missouri, North
Carolina, Oklahoma,

Virginia and West

Suggestion: Select the name of the state
that interests you in the above paragraph. When you arrive
at the state page, copy the complete line of text for a contact listing.
Paste the text line in the memo section of an anonymous email
that you send to The
Network in accord with instructions. Be sure to name
the contact's state in the email subject line. Our response
(who we are) will
be to publish a link or address information for contacting the person
